This lazy mare still hasn't put most of her pressies away. I don't know if you are like me but I love leaving them out so I can still "oooh" and "aaaah" days later. But I know I really must stop gazing and start putting away. The Hetty hoover is a pressie from one of my sisters who lurks on my blog it seems - it came with a note telling me she expected to see a tidy desk this Wednesday. Sorry Sue! *shamefaced* She gives the best gifts, lots of thought... which usually make me laugh!
Father Christmas got it spot on this year and this blogger was thoroughly spoilt! This is me realising that Craig had popped a sewing machine under the tree...
...and the exact thoughts going through my head here were "I wonder if everyone really wants a roast dinner... will they notice if I slip off to play?..."
I will stop ogling and start tidying up tomorrow. After the New Year I have to start clearing out what will be my craft room (stu-stu-studio) at the unit and prepare to start moving stuff down there. So, need to be organised and ready.Happy New Year WOYWWers :) And here's wishing you a happy, healthy and crafty 2011!
Aw - you look absolutely thrilled, and who can blame you! I had an unfortunate mental picture of the turkey all beautifully trussed up with a variety of stitches, thus combining your cooking responsibilities and playing with your new machine.
ReplyDeleteI agree entirely that presents should be left out for a while, subject to occasional inspection, patting and general appreciation. (I've been known to impersonate Gollum by chattering to "my precious" as I pass by my presents.)
Funny to see your Hetty too, as I've just bought a Henry today, our old one having gone to hoover the great sky carpet. Do you think we should organise them a blind date?
Bernie
How wonderful you got presents you wanted and presents you needed. Desk doesn't look so bad. Of course you must leave the goodies out to look at othrwise how will you remember what your put away. LOL #75
ReplyDeleteAwesome presents! Thanks for the peek and sharing. Happy creative crafting in the New Year.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Marjo

ReplyDeleteLucky Carmen!! You must have been extra good this year! Hope you have allocated it a spot in your new stu-stu-studio!
ReplyDeleteLucky girl getting a sewing machine under the tree :) have you had a play with it yet? i got a red one from John lewis just days before Xmas and I love it!!!! I've been lazy in blog land lately so don't know nabout the studio???? I must FB you :)
ReplyDeleteLucky you! I remember doing that with gifts too - when we were kids we would have to take them upstairs at the end of Christmas Day but we'd bring them all back down again for days after that..... sadly these days (sob) I don't get enough to do that with... Have a great time with your new "toys"!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE leaving my new stuff out for weeks to look at - not just at Christmas. If I but anything at all I set it up to look at for weeks before I use it. Everyone else here laughs at me.
ReplyDeleteYou are going to be dangerous with that sewing machine aren't you?!
I got a crafty book- thats the only crafty item I received this year, so I bought my own lol
ReplyDeletelaughed at your questioning the roast dinner option vs sewing machine lol, brilliant.
I wish I could thread mine lol...its automatic and I'm better off with a treadle rofl
I think presents should remain out for a while... just to admire and keep us on our toes before being put away! Lucky girl to get a sewing machine... hope you cooked dinner anyways?? LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy New year to You and Yours!! Annette #9
Ooooh a sewing machine...that ought to kick up the crafting a notch (maybe it'll inspire me to dust mine off!)
ReplyDeleteJust finished a novel I have to recommend to you and anyone that will listen it's called One Amazing Thing and it was just that!
Thx for visiting and Happy New Year!

Hi Carmen, heres the link you wanted www.strathmoreartiststudio.com This takes you to the home page, I dont know if you have to be signed in to access this page, if it doesnt work google strathmore visual journal online workshops. They are offering 3 free online journal workshops, 1st one starts 1st Jan then one in march and one in may. I have signed up to all of them as they are free! If you cant find it let me know and I will try and find the blog that had the original link x
ReplyDeleteI think your desk looks awesome. I can't work when things are all tidy. I need at least an hour to run around the house frantically searching for my glue or glitter before I feel released to create. LOL ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great family you have! Your sister and then your hubs! I love getting the perfect gift ;) Happy crafting in the year ahead. Hauoli makahiki hou from AmberInk.
ReplyDeleteYou have definitely been a good girl this year! Hope you have fun with your new sewing machine.

Not sure(yet)what a WOYWW is, but I stumbled upon your blog and think I like your way of expressing yourself and think I'll be back for more reading in the coming new year.
ReplyDeleteSimply wonderful present and you look SO, SO happy. I'm racing against the clock to wish you a safe, fun filled, joyous New Year filled with lots of new art. So, did you make the roast (GRIN)?
ReplyDeleteFab gifts!! Lucky you, very much deserved. I am toying with the idea of a little sewing machine, god knows where I'll put it mind! Glad you had a good one x
